Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 6, 2026

U Do is a social to-do list app that helps friends stay accountable. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information We Collect

  • Account details, such as your email address, profile name, and username, when you create an account. If you sign in with Google, we receive basic profile information (such as your name, email address, and profile picture) from your Google account.
  • Content you provide in the app, including tasks, lists, and friend connections.
  • Usage and analytics information about how you interact with the app, used to understand and improve the product.
  • Safety and moderation information, such as reports you submit about content or other users (including the reason you provide) and users you block, used to keep the community safe.
  • Diagnostic and device information, such as app version, device type, operating system, and crash reports, used to keep the service stable and secure.

How We Use Information

  • Provide and maintain the U Do service.
  • Enable social and collaboration features between invited users. Your profile name and username are visible to other users, and tasks or lists you choose to share or mark as public are visible to the friends you share them with.
  • Improve reliability, performance, and user experience.
  • Respond to support requests and important service notices.
  • Keep the community safe: review reports, filter objectionable content, enforce our Terms of Service, and remove content or suspend or terminate accounts that violate our policies.

How Information Is Shared

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers that help us operate the app, and only as needed to provide the service or as required by law. These providers include:

  • Convex — backend database and hosting that stores your account and content.
  • Google — authentication when you choose to sign in with Google.
  • PostHog — product analytics to understand how the app is used.
  • Resend — transactional email delivery (sign-in codes, friend invites, and account notices).
  • Sentry — crash and error reporting to diagnose and fix problems.

Each provider processes data only on our behalf and under its own privacy and security commitments.

Data Retention

We keep your data while your account is active and as needed for legitimate business or legal purposes. You can delete your account from within the app, or request deletion by contacting us. When you delete your account, we remove your associated data, except where we are required to retain it by law. We may also retain limited safety and moderation records, such as reports and enforcement actions, as needed to keep the community safe and to enforce our Terms.

Your Rights and Choices

  • Request access to the data associated with your account.
  • Request correction or deletion of your data.
  • Stop using the app at any time.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the EU/UK GDPR or the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to access, correct, delete, or port your data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below.

Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures, including encryption in transit, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

International Data Transfers

We and our service providers may process and store your information in countries other than where you live, including the United States. Where required, we take steps to ensure your data receives an appropriate level of protection when transferred internationally.

Children's Privacy

U Do is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date on this page.
